About Beta Alpha Psi
WHAT IS BAP?
An honorary organisation for Accounting, Finance and Information Systems students and professionals. Established in 1919 at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, USA, there are 297 chapters around the world now and over 300,000 members and alumni. New Zealand’s first chapter, The University of Auckland Chapter, was founded in 2008.
BAP’s primary objective is encouraging and recognising scholastic and professional excellence in the business information field. BAP does this by providing opportunities for self-development, service and association among members and practicing professionals.
WHY JOIN BAP?
1. Opportunities to develop/strengthen skills valued by your future employers (through participation in BAP’s activities) e.g. teamwork, leadership, project management, communication/presentation, problem solving, networking. Don’t leave this till the last year of your degree!
2. Continuous exposure and networking opportunities with associates, managers and partners from the firms in the industry.
